Hello! My name is Clarissa, I prefer to go by Claire. I am a 28 year old mother of 2 wonderful children. My son is 9 and my daughter is 5. When its warm out we enjoy going Disc Golfing together. Most times though, I can be found in a kitchen. Cooking is my passion. I want to own a restaurant within the next 5 years.
I wanted to take culinary arts classes, but had a hard time finding anywhere close for classes, so I decided why wait any longer? I am now enrolled as a student for Business classes at MMCC (Mid Michigan Community College). I had been out of school for about 8 years. It felt weird at first to be a part of school again, but now it just feels amazing. I am very proud of myself for finally taking that step. I didn't even graduate from high school, and now here I am a college student. After this semester I will be just passed the half way point to getting my degree.
When it comes to my cooking I don't have a specific style, at least I don't think so. I am always trying random things. I have failed at some dishes before because I tried something a little too crazy, but usually it's still edible, just not that great. Some of my favorite things to cook are Chinese food, Mexican, and soups. I have made my own Teriyaki sauce, it is very simple and easy to make and I absolutely love it. When it comes to Mexican night in my home, we go all out. I make it all by scratch (unless it's a lazy day). I love to make my own rice and re fried beans. You cannot forget the Pico de gallo on a Mexican night, I swear I can eat that stuff, by the spoonful. When it comes to making soup it just comes natural to me. In my eyes we have 2 seasons there is Soup season and BBQ season. When it's colder out who doesn't like a bowl of soup and when its warm out we all love to fire up those grills. We're coming into grill season now and I love it! I can't wait to start getting some amazing new dishes up for you.
Thank you for your view. Enjoy!
